Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Explain the function and advantages of house and lap joints in carpentry.
* Demonstrate appropriate use, care, and maintenance of hand tools and power tools used for making house and lap joints.
* Recognise and apply different cutting techniques specific to creating house and lap joints.
* Demonstrate proficiency in using saws and other cutting tools to achieve precise cuts.
* Critically evaluate your choice of materials, tools and techniques through a group or individual processes.
* Explain the health and safety considerations for all resources and tools used.
