This drawing and sketching beginners and improvers course in Sevenoaks is for those who wish to try out a variety of techniques and mediums who are new to Art or those returning to the subject. This course is over three consecutive days.
By the end of the course you should be able to :-
demonstrate different drawing and painting techniques
identify and use the colour wheel to create striking visual images.
develop an understanding of tone, light and shade and 3D effects.
consider the elements which form effective composition.
Classes will be relaxed and friendly and involve experimentation with a range of techniques in a structured tutor led programme. By working from both direct observation and from photographic references and hopefully weather permitting outside.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Victoria Wainwright
Victoria Wainwright is a professional Artist and Illustrator specialising in pen and ink and printmaking but with a varied background in illustration techniques and briefs. She regularly undertakes commission work where illustration is a feature, and has illustrated a number of published books. Victoria's main interest is in drawing people, capturing their movement and character.
How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including looking at artists, demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques.
What do I need to bring with me?
Bring any pencils and paper that you already have including B pencils and sketching paper and the tutor can advise you of any further materials that you may wish to buy in order to progress. You can also buy various papers at the centre.
