This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.
This practical course aims to introduce, and give you the opportunity to practise, some of the basic techniques of Drawing and Sketching.
The course covers drawing and sketching techniques which will inlcude shading effects to enhance your compostiions. Elements of compostion, proportion and tonal art work are explored thorough projects.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Angelo Pizzigallo
Angelo Pizzigallo is a practising artist who exhibits his work locally and in London galleries. Primarily a painter using water-based media, he uses vibrant colours and textures to create layered pictures, often of nocturnal scenes and figures in interiors. He also sometimes incorporates printed and found materials, calling it 'mixed up media'! A very experienced tutor, he has taught for Kent Adult Education for more than 10 years.
How will I be taught?
This course will be delivered online. You will join the class from home and be able to exchange and interact with other learners as you would in the classroom (speaking and listening).
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques.
What do I need to have with me?
For this course you will need the following resources:-
- A suitable workspace to communicate via Zoom and to draw.
- A selection of drawing pencils 2B - 8B
- Eraser
- Pencil Sharpener
- Sketch Paper or Pad (and a board or hard surface to lean on)

What do I need to join the course
This course is for learners with some experience of drawing and painting who want to develop their practice.
You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, from a laptop (where the camera and microphone should be built-in), a tablet or a smartphone. Before each lesson, the tutor may send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple weblink to click.
