This course has started, but it may still be possible to join it. Please call 03000 41 22 22* and ask to be put through to the Centre where the course is running

The course is for students who have achieved a basic level of English. You can already understand and produce simple language in familiar situations such as basic personal and family information, shopping, employment and education. You can read and understand signs, symbols, basic instructions, notices and short texts. You can fill in simple forms and write short notes. You may already have a Trinity qualification at Entry 1 or Entry 2.
You will learn basic practical English for everyday life and for working in the UK and you will make progress with the basic grammar of English. The main focus of the class will be Speaking and Listening but you will also have the chance to improve your reading and writing skills, especially through your Individual Learning Plan and homework.

This course will be delivered on a virtual learning platform (Zoom) from September and may continue to be delivered virtually for the duration of the course. Your tutor will keep you informed of any possible changes with plenty of notice.

How will I be taught?

You will work on a variety of activities as a class and in small groups or pairs. This allows the tutor to attend to individual needs as well as to direct the learning of the group as a whole. Homework will be an essential part of the course.
An individual learning plan of work (ILP) is developed between you and the tutor. You will have tutorials with your tutor when you will be able to discuss your progress.

Additionally, your work will be regularly marked by your tutor who will give you oral/written feedback.

What do I need to bring with me?

Dictionary, ring binder for handouts and homework, paper and pen.

What can I do next?
