Have you every thought that you would like to try you hand at Drawing & painting? than this is the course for you. The materials you need for this course will be provided.
You will start with some basic mark making to painting ideas that you have developed as the evening goes along. You will learn the basics of mixing colours in paint, The tutor will show you how you can draw and paint and be creative in a space where there are no judgements, just a supportive environment.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

- Identify how drawing relates to painting
- Demonstrate brush control when applying paint
- Create an A3 final piece of Art work to take home
- Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines

Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Deborah Crofts

Deborah Crofts is a practicing artist with a studio on the South Coast of Kent. She has a BA Fine Art from the University of East London and a PGCE gained at the University of Greenwich.

How will I be taught?

Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook & individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress.Students will need to understand the potential benefit from the programme of study, read and interpret ideas, communicate responses that are clear, logical and understandable and manage your own time. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills.

What do I need to bring with me?

We will provide the materials you will need to create a Drawing/ Painting on A3 Paper. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate you are more then welcome to bring them with you.

Courses are designed to progress students to higher levels of the Art. In addition our courses support application to "Access to Degree Foundation courses" leading to Higher Education opportunities.

What do I need to join the course

Everyone is welcome. No previous knowledge or experience needed., It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.
