Hapa Zome, (flower pounding) is a eco printing technique where the natural pigment dye is extracted from flowers onto fabric using pressure.
On this course you will be introduced to this fun technique that allows you to play with flowers and leaves in a very hands-on way.
You will then use stitch and embroidery techniques to embellish your naturally dyed pieces and finish them as a unique wall art.
By the end of the course students will know how to:
Use the Hapa Zome (flower pounding) technique.
Understand technical names for processes used.
Understand how to layout a composition.
Use a number of traditional embroidery stitches.
Finish a piece of textiles ready to hang.
Work to health and safety guidelines.
