About the Tutor: Selene Genovesi

Selene has a Bachelor Degree in Modern Languages and Literature and an MA in Literary Translation.
She has always had a great passion for all literatures and has started studying (and then teaching) languages to be able to read more books!
She is currently member of many “borderless” clubs in English and Italian, devouring classic and contemporary titles, as well as being an avid reader of Literary Criticism magazines and blogs online.

The focus will be on speaking and listening. Some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Italian culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc). Homework set will provide an opportunity for self-study., Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student' starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set targets. This will be revisited regularly during the course to monitor and record your progress. The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session., ,

For anybody who is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with day to day scenarios when travelling and socialising in Italy.
This course follows on from our Italian Beginners Plus 1 and 2 . Students need to have attended at least one of these courses or have learnt some Italian in the past. Students should be able to talk simply about self, work and life, express likes and dislikes / agreements and disagreements and have a basic knowledge of the past tense.
