Do you want to speak more Italian and build on your basic skills? This is the aim of this Italian Beginners Plus course. You will benefit from exchanging face to face with a supportive tutor and others as you practise speaking and enjoy learning the language. You will build on your previous knowledge of basic key phrases, vocabulary, simple grammar and culture.

The purpose of this course is to reinforce and revise grammatical structures learnt in Beginners Plus 1 and 2 and to expand upon vocabulary.

By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:
• exchange information about self, work and life
• express likes and dislikes / agreements and disagreements
• exchange information about past events
• explain simple health problems
• make arrangements using the simple future

You will be given homework to reinforce classroom learning.

How will I be taught?

The focus will be on speaking and listening. Some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Italian culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc). Homework set will provide an opportunity for self-study., Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student' starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set targets. This will be revisited regularly during the course to monitor and record your progress. Tutors will give written or verbal feedback., ,

What do I need to have with me?

The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session., ,

What can I do next?

This course follows on from our Italian Beginners Plus 1 and 2 . Students need to have attended at least one of these courses or have learnt some Italian in the past. Students should be able to talk simply about self, work and life, express likes and dislikes / agreements and disagreements and have a basic knowledge of the past tense.

If you are unsure, please carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk or in our Centres. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, please speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.
