Each exercise will be introduced with clear instruction, some demonstration with examples of work from historical and contemporary artists in context with the exercise. Throughout the course students will be encouraged to develop their own styles. There will be a variety of mediums used pencil, charcoal, inks, collage, oil, acrylic and watercolour. By the end of the course you will be able to:

Create a series of sketches based on the anatomical exercises
Develop a series of drawings to be used in a sustained study
Produce an individual piece of work based on drawing exercises
Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines

How will I be taught?

Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills. You will assess your progress through your Individual Learning Plan, ILP.

What do I need to bring with me?
