This course will be held at our new venue at Oakwood House, Maidstone.
This is a short practical introduction to painting a portrait. You will be working directly from a model, using oil paint. This course will provide you with information and guidance to help you gain confidence and practical experience in creating a painting using your oil painting materials.
Please bring a packed lunch with you as there are no catering facilities at Oakwood House.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Caroline Clough
Caroline Clough has a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art. She has exhibited and sold paintings in galleries in London and the South East and has taught painting and drawing with Kent Adult Education since 1986. She currently works mainly with watercolour, mixed media and acrylic and enjoys experimenting and working with a range of subject matter.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught in a small, supportive group. Your tutor will use a range of teaching methods including presentation, discussion, demonstration and 1:1 tuition.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need to bring with you a basic set of oil painting equipment and appropriate surface to work on. A minimum list of suggested equipment will be provided prior to the course on request.
