Preserving the Memory is your story, illustrated, designed and created by you about you or those dear to you, where you will learn a narrative structure and channel your inner artist. Your story may come in many forms, from your imagination, writing, photos or objects. We will look at how to cast these magically to decorate your book into your personable story

From our past is our present. By going back over old narratives we can change them to perceive them differently. For we now see through different eyes, a different lens. These workshops will help you decide how to tell your story, what story you would like to tell, and why you want to tell it

Scrapbooking is reflective and mindful therefore can also be used for healing, as one can reflect upon the trauma and pain or past longing through communicating and sharing. It is known that writing and creating around our narratives helps with the healing process.

Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Jeannette Pope

Jeanne is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, writer and traveller. She has lived and worked in China teaching film production, studied for her BFA in Montreal, Canada and travels frequently to her village in France where she works on village stories, oral history and digital work. She is involved with the Victorian Cemetery in Tunbridge Wells as a videographer and helps at the Rusthall Community Cinema. She is very passionate about do-it-yourself, and handcrafting and encourages this in her classes which include scrapbooking, and digital stories.
