This course is ideal if you wish to create your own patterns and blocks in order to create garments to fit. You can create many and varied designs using these skills and produce amazing pieces. The is the next level of pattern cutting and is suitable for students who have completed the previous course, pattern cutting 1.
• Follow a full set of instructions to draft a pattern block from bespoke measurements.
• Interpret the type of design that is possible from the block that is chosen to be drafted.
• Apply prior knowledge of pattern cutting to the process of designing whilst also in relation to the proportions of the body.
• Develop and awareness of fabrics and their suitability to different silhouettes and pattern techniques.
• Draft a pattern in relation to what has been designed whilst applying prior dart manipulation etc. techniques

About the Tutor: Anna Harper
Anna is a highly experience costume maker and designer.
How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstration, instructions, one-to-one tutorial guidance, group discussions and critiques. It is important to note that craft courses are practical, requiring a degree of manual dexterity. Students will need to participate fully to get the most out of the course. Our courses are taught by qualified and experienced tutors most of whom are practising craftspeople.
One to one guidance, group critiques, self-assessment against individualised learning outcomes stated on the ILP.
What do I need to bring with me?
We have a number of sewing machines, however students need to be aware that they may have to share or feel welcome to bring their own machines. Students will need to bring
