About this course

In recent years, women have sought to move away from the medicalised image of birth, toward a more autonomous, self aware approach to birth, and hypnobirthing is very much part of that.
But what is hypnobirthing? How can it help you birth your baby? And how does it relate to contemporary maternity care?
In this course we will look at how the mechanism of birth is heavily influenced by a woman’s environment, mental state and instinct, and how she and her partner can use hypnobirthing practice both before and during birth.

Please note: this course does not offer medical advice, and all parents should address any medical questions to their healthcare practitioners, and work with their best advice. Hypnobirthing is complimentary to medical advice and seeks to work with, not replace it.

The cost of he course is for both expectant mum and her birthing partner.

How will I be taught?

To get the most from the course, you will be shown how to use daily practice and visualisation in preparation for birth, and relaxation techniques for a range of situations. I hope it will impart a different and deeper understanding of the relationship between mind and body and between a woman and her birthing partner, and a sense of empowerment and confidence in both to embrace their unique paths to parenthood.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring a yoga mat and a cushion with you so that you are completely comfortable.
Please wear comfortable clothing.
You should also bring some lunch for you and your birthing partner and a bottle of water.

What do I need to join the course

The course is for expectant mothers at any stage of their pregnancy (although it is particularly useful between 20 and 30 weeks) and their birthing partner.
