How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You and your tutor will discuss and monitor your progress.
What do I need to bring with me?
For the first week you will need to bring a 'Fat Quarter' bundle of Christmas themed fabrics of your choice (ask at any fabric shop or search on the internet if you aren't sure what this is) and 1/2 meter of felt in a co-ordinating colour. You may chose to buy trimmings to add during the course to personalise your projects.
Please bring some sewing equipment if you have any - e.g. sharp scissors for cutting fabric, pins, needles, a tape measure, chalk fabric pencil, sewing threads to match fabrics
Please bring your own sewing machine if you have one.
A pen, pencil, notebook and folder for handouts etc.
What can I do next?
Another sewing course such as Clothesmaking
What do I need to join the course
Everyone is welcome, no previous experience is necessary, a great starting point for beginners.
It is important to note that craft courses are practical, requiring a degree of manual dexterity.
If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak to the programme manager before you enrol
